Neil Cavuto thinks Hillary Clinton promoting San Fran Mayor, Gavin Newsom’s endorsement of her is a bad thing. I disagree. You decide.

Besides being yummy to look at, I do agree with Neil that Mayor Newsom is "a great mayor…impressive… stands to his convictions…and unlike a lot of politicians he doesn’t go back and forth." I shouldn’t have talked over Neil while he was saying all those good things about Gavin.

The folks at News Hounds did a write-up which notes that I was "calm and articulate." Thanks for the compliment, but what was I supposed to be – angry and dumbfounded? For those of you who may not know, some people think "articulate" is a code word used by whites to refer to a non-threatening, black person who can talk properly.  Sometimes I talk improperly – just not on TV.

My friend, Thom Wallace of empivot.com, has chastised me for not having more video clips on my blog. So he tracked down the video from the segment I did yesterday on Fox News Channel’s The Big Story. Thanks, Thom! Check out my segment below and then check out empivot.com, otherwise known as the "Green YouTube" where you can view green from every angle and share green-related video content with a growing on-line community of users.

Update: Listen to the segment here. I was joined by fellow bloggers, Michael Fauntroy, and Brandon Whitney. We discussed Barack Obama’s youth vote issues in Iowa, Mychal Bell’s plea deal, a triflin black firefighter from Baltimore who faked a noose hanging, and the unfortunate case of two college students who decided to rob a bank to pay for their tuition.

Even though I have been absent from my blog for 2 months a bit, I will be on NPR’s News and Notes Blogger’s Roundtable today. To find out what time the show airs in your area check out npr.org. I have been a fan of the host, Farai Chideya, since 1996 when I devoured her first book Don’t Believe the Hype: Fighting Cultural Misinformation About African Americans.

Also, you can check out my first session on NPR’s News and Notes Blogger’s Roundtable from October 3, with fellow bloggers Leon Scott and Casey Lartigue. We talked about white guilt, the future of black men, and a new dresscode at Morehouse College.
